On Friday, September 20, 2019, Living Resources, Inc. hosted their 10th Annual Golf Tournament at the Colonie Golf and Country Club located in Voorheesville, NY, in which substantial funding was raised for the College Experience program.
The Alumni got an early start to autumn by embarking on one of the most cherished rituals of the season on Sunday, September 15, 2019. Apple picking at Bowman Orchards was the activity of choice this particular day!
We would like to thank the current seniors for working with staff on getting the dorms ready for the new students by picking up litter around the proximity of the houses and also for their beautiful notes that were waiting for the new students during the “Move-In Day” on Monday, August 19, 2019.
On Friday, August 23, 2019 Living Resources, Inc. celebrated Brain Injury Awareness Day at Tawasentha Park. We were treated to the vocal and musical abilities of Brain Waves, which is a band composed of staff and individuals we serve.
We are pleased to present you with this image of Tor Kronbichler captured in mid-shot on the basketball court of the Guilderland YMCA. Tor was there last week on Friday, August 16, 2019 touring the premises using the guest pass of his Volunteer Coordinator who has a regular membership.
On Monday, August 19, 2019 the incoming seniors and new alumni banded together with the task of welcoming the incoming students to their new homes. We are proud of our program participants for volunteering to take on staff-like roles as they unloaded the belongings of the new students and showed them their new rooms.
To say that David Lieberman had a productive and exciting day on Saturday, August 17, 2019 is an epic understatement! David started by being transported to an American Red Cross Blood Drive at the Guilderland YMCA by one of his co-workers, Jesse Saperstein at the College Experience.
In order to properly welcome the incoming freshmen students, our current seniors got to work on the Kindness Rocks Project on the date of Thursday, August 15, 2019 under the artistic instruction of Fern Pivar who runs our Entrepreneur class and advises the Phat Dog Treats business that is manned by the students.
It is always so special when alumni, current students, new participants, and staff unite for one explosive frenzy of celebration! Work is put on a back burner and everybody is able to cut-loose while dancing to our favorite music. This was truly the case during the Summer Exchange Semi-Formal on the evening of Friday, July 19, 2019 at the Elks Club only a short walk away from the student residences.
