College Experience staff, Jennifer Richard and Jesse Saperstein, had the privilege of enjoying lunch with Heather Kuzmich at The Standard Restaurant. Heather is a former contestant on America’s Next Top Model with Asperger’s syndrome.
The students of the College Experience have been cherishing the horror-saturated joys of Halloween all week long! Some of the students chose to open up their dorm room to host a Halloween party compete with music and dancing. Costumes were optional but fun was mandatory!
On Saturday, October 27, 2018 two alumni of the College Experience enjoyed an adventure to the City of Kingston, to attend a gathering of the Global and Regional Asperger Syndrome Partnership (GRASP).
The ancient spirit of All Hallow’s Eve is alive and well here at the College Experience. On the afternoon of Sunday, October 28, 2018 four students traveled to the Palace Theatre for a special Family Day Showing of the 1993 Halloween classic, “Hocus Pocus”.

The College Experience wishes to offer their heartfelt, congratulatory wishes to David Lieberman who has just been selected to join his former staff members and teachers as their new colleague! This is the first time in the thirteen year history of the College Experience that an alumnus is now an official staff member.
On Friday, October 12, 2018 the students of the College Experience had the opportunity to explore the Fort Crailo Historic Site in Rensselaer, NY. The was just one of many trips planned this semester by adjunct professor, Michelle Brown who teaches the Local History class.
The Capital Region presents endless opportunities for the students to explore recreation and local culture. With that in mind, the students in the Local History class taught by adjunct professor, Michelle Brown, had the chance to go on a Ghost Tour of the sprawling State Capitol Building on Friday, October 19, 2018.
On Thursday, October 10, 2018, College Experience alumni Jordan West and Andrew Maggio were kind enough to lend their time to an EmployAbility event sponsored by the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD).
Sara is a College Experience alumnus from the Class of 2015 who has been active with employment and volunteering endeavors since her graduation. Sara is a much-appreciated volunteer at Mercy Care for Kids and the Eddy, which are both run by St. Peter’s Health Partners.
What comes after graduation? Many College Experience students, in fact most, choose to remain in Albany. They maintain friendships with their fellow and former graduates, form romantic partnerships, and some get married.
Through our C2L Program, the College Experience support staff offers dedicated transition support and guidance, helping students in the year after graduation with apartment leases and job placements, and then literally forever after as members of the Living Resources community.
Since 2005, students enrolled in The College Experience have been a welcomed part of a coeducational college community located in Albany, New York. We partner with Russell Sage College, and our students are welcomed members of both Russell Sage’s Albany and Troy campus communities.
Students are offered a practical core curriculum and a wide variety of electives.
Our dorms are beautifully remodeled city residences located just a few blocks from Russell Sage’s Albany campus. Students live together in groups of 3 – 9. Each student has his or her own bedroom and share common living areas. Seniors serve as mentors to freshmen and assist them in many meaningful ways.
