Jen: Associate Executive Director for Programs

Jennifer is the Associate Executive Director for Programs at Living Resources. Jen graduated from Keene State College in 2000 with an Associate Degree in Human Services and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. Jen has been employed with Living Resources since 2001. She became Director of the College Experience in 2007, the Director of all Program Services for Living Resources in 2010, Assistant Executive Director in 2016 and promoted to Associate Executive Director for Programs in 2021.

Colleen: Director of College Programs

Colleen started with The College Experience in 2009 as the QIDP, teaching classes and overseeing student service plans. In 2010 Colleen was promoted to Coordinator of Student Life & Admissions for The College Experience. In this role, Colleen recruited for the program and oversaw the admission process, working closely with students, parents and school districts. In 2019, Colleen was promoted to Director of Admissions for both the College Experience and CareerNext, and in 2021, promoted to Director of College Programs for the College Experience and CareerNext programs. Colleen graduated from Oneonta State University with her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and from Dominican College with her Master’s degree in Special Education and Teacher of Severe and Multiple Disabilities. Prior to the College Experience, Colleen was teaching in the field of special education at a local public school district.

Kevin: Assistant Director, Residential Services

Kevin has been the Residential Coordinator for the College Experience since 2008. His tasks include writing residential plans of service for the students and managing the house staff. Previously, Kevin spent 15 years in the radio business, both on-air and in management positions at Albany radio stations WPYX and WRCZ. He graduated from SUNY Albany in 1990.

Kristin: Academic & Senior Admissions Coordinator

Kristin joined the College Experience and CareerNext staff as the Admissions Coordinator in early 2021, and was later promoted to Senior Admissions Coordinator. As the Senior Admissions Coordinator, Kristin recruits for the programs and assists parents and students in the admissions process to The College Experience at Russell Sage College and CareerNext at SUNY Cobleskill, Hudson Valley Community College, and CHOICE. In 2024, Kristin began her role as Academic Coordinator for the College Experience, which involves oversight of all academic courses, scheduling classes, curriculum development, teaching, and advising students. Kristin received her Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Politics from Pace University.

Aaron: Residential Coordinator

Aaron joined the College Experience in 2020. As the Residential Coordinator he provides oversight and support for all students living in the dorms as well as basic facility managment. Aaron graduated from the University at Buffalo with a B.A. in Health & Human Services. He brings nearly a decade of experience and enthusiasm working with young adults and people with disabilities to the team. When he’s not with students or at the dorms, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son.

Briana: Community Coordinator

Briana joined the College Experience staff as the Community Coordinator in 2022. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY Plattsburgh in Human Development and Family Relations. As the Community Coordinator, Briana supports students in becoming involved with the community – both within College of Saint Rose and the surrounding Capital District. In addition to creating the calendar of events for students, Briana teaches courses in cooking, executive functioning, and travel navigation. Briana has several years of experience from working for local non-profits and human service agencies in the Greater Capital Region.

Bill: Internship Coordinator

DSC_5241bestBill has been an adjunct professor with the College Experience since fall of 2008, teaching classes in political culture and practical history. As Internship Coordinator, Bill is responsible for developing and maintaining internship placements that match the abilities and interest of seniors in The College Experience. Previously, Bill was a service coordinator case manager and special education teacher for more than 30 years. He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from SUNY New Paltz and a master’s degree and CAS from the University at Albany.

Katie: Clinical Therapist, MS Ed. MHC

Katie is the Clinical Therapist for the College Experience Program. Katie originally came to Living Resources as a clinical intern in 2018, where she then became a full time clinician with the agency in 2019. Katie worked with the residential and day habilitation programs for 3 years, providing behavioral and mental health support, and has since joined The College Experience team as clinical therapist in 2023. She also has experience working as a psychotherapist in private practice to help people with their mental health struggles and personal growth. Katie holds a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Saint Rose and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the State University of New York at Cortland.

Julianna: Internship Coordinator

Julianna joined the College Experience staff in 2021 as a Career Counselor. In this role, Julianna encourages College Experience students to explore their career interests through employment readiness classes and job shadows. Julianna also provides on-site job coaching for interns, helping students to practice professionalism and gain independence at work. In 2023, Julianna was promoted to Internship Coordinator. Julianna earned a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Psychology from the University at Albany in 2019 and has several years of experience working in human services.

Esther: College-to-Life Liaison

EstherEsther joined the College Experience staff in 2021 as an Education Assistant, where she worked in the dorms and supported students with grocery shopping. In 2022, she was promoted to College-to-Life Liaison, providing community habilitation services to individuals in the College-to-Life program, teaching Apartment Life and Menu Planning classes, and continuing to provide support for student grocery shopping. Esther holds a Bachelors degree in Public Health and Social Welfare from the University at Albany.

Jesse: Media and Activities Liaison 

His roles within the program include the Blog Writer, the Alumni Activities Coordinator, the Volunteer Coordinator, and a Life Coach for some of our alumni within the Transitions as well as the Community Habilitation programs. Throughout the rest of Living Resources he serves as a Staff Trainer, the Creative Writing instructor within the DCOP Program, and the Self-Advocacy Liaison. Jesse graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges located in Geneva, NY in 2004 with a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in English and a Minor in Peer Education. Jesse has been employed with Living Resources since 2015 when he started out as the Habilitation Liaison and was moved up to the Media and Activities Liaison in 2016. Jesse also has a part-time career as a public orator where he lectures about his journey with Asperger’s syndrome and is the author of two books published by Penguin Group (USA) in 2010 and 2014.  They are titled, “Atypical” and “Getting a Life with Asperger’s.”
