Movie Night with the Alumni Activities Club

On the evening of Saturday, January 4, 2020 the Alumni Activities Club had quite a night. We saw the new Tom Hanks movie and Fred Rogers biopic, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, at the Landmark Spectrum 8 Theatres located on 290 Delaware Avenue. David, Nick, and Jessica (left to right in the photo) were incredibly touched by the film. David enjoyed the film so much that this was his second time watching it!

College Experience Movie Night GroupThe movie is just another poignant reminder that kindness is the most powerful language in humanity, and the movie taught us that Mr. Rogers was not an act or a character. The man and television persona were exactly the same as was discovered by the movie’s protagonist – a cynical and emotionally-broken journalist that is based on the Esquire reporter, Tom Junod.

Movie Night Landmark Spectrum Theatre Display

The Spectrum Theatres also boasts a display of figurines encased in glass depicting characters and/or scenes from over one hundred epic movies. There is everything from The Muppet Christmas Carol to King Kong. If you take a close look at the photo perhaps you could recognize some of your favorite movies. The Alumni Activities Club is looking forward to more fun outings and will try to incorporate as many ideas as possible!
