On the date of Wednesday, July 24, 2019 the American Red Cross on Everett Road in Albany, NY, received an unexpected surprise when two large pizza pies arrived from a local restaurant from Sweet Willy’s Pizzeria located on 85 Sand Creek Road.
The people who ordered the pies were Jose Galvez and his support staff who treated the entire complex to a surprise pizza party in appreciation for giving Jose a chance to volunteer as a Blood Donor Ambassador and for the lifesaving measures they provide to the Capital Region!
The phlebotomists and donors were treated to this special delivery on top of what is provided at the refreshment table. And as you can see from the photograph, there was enough left over for Jose to also enjoy!
We look forward to continuing our partnership with the American Red Cross who prepares our College Experience alumni for paid employment someday by helping them build transferrable skills such as interacting with the public and operating the computer equipment.
What comes after graduation? Many College Experience students, in fact most, choose to remain in Albany. They maintain friendships with their fellow and former graduates, form romantic partnerships, and some get married.
