On Saturday, April 7, 2018 it finally happened after the Capital Region had been waiting for so very long. Comic Con finally came to Albany with its endless parade of living legends, celebrities, voice actors memorabilia, nostalgia, costumes, and everything else that fills the dreams of those who love comic book folklore and a few other genres. It was enough to fill the convention center of Empire State Plaza!  Some celebrities in attendance included Lou Ferrigno (the original Incredible Hulk), Robert England (Freddy Krueger from Nightmare on Elm Street), Charles Fleischer (the voice of Roger Rabbit), and several other celebrities who are lesser known…albeit immortal. The Hollywood stunt double, Leslie Hoffman signed a photograph for the College Experience and posed with a staff member (Ms. Hoffman played the hall monitor with the Freddy Krueger claws in Nightmare on Elm Street).
Among the throngs of dedicated fans were some of our students and alumni. Some came in costume and others just brought their enthusiasm to the event. The staff at the College Experience were proud of them for taking the initiative to venture into the State Capital to see their heroes and interact with the celebrities in attendance. Comic Con and other amenities in close proximity are just a few of the options here in Albany, NY for our students as well as a reliable Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) bus system. As our persistent winter transitions into warmer days within the next few weeks there should be plenty of more adventures for our students that we look forward to showing you.
