Finding Jo March
By Laramie Dean
Directed By: Eleah Jayne Peal
You should know right away that this is not a traditional adaptation of Little Women.
A young writer dives into the world of Louisa May Alcott’s most famous novel, Little Women, in order to bring the story to life (with a little help from their friends). Suddenly the March sisters are back, the writer envisioning themselves as one of them… Jo! As the lives and loves of Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy unfold, the present constantly threatens to pull the writer back into reality where a tragedy they have yet to deal with awaits.
Finding Jo March about telling someone else’s story so you can find your own.
Please Note: This play explores gender themes as they relate both to the past and the present. To that end, this production not just welcomes, but celebrates queer and nb/trans youth! Heavily featured on stage and off are adults and students who are trans, non-binary, and all over gender and queer spectrum. Come celebrate their voices!
