Join us at the Albany Institute of History & Art on Sunday, April 16th for a special free day at the museum, sponsored by a Humanities New York Vision/Action Grant!
New exhibitions, “It’s A Wrap: Two Hundred Years of Outerwear” and “Hudson River School Journeys: Watercolors and Drawings by William Hart and Julie Hart Beers” are open to the public with interactive family guides, always available for free.
At 2:00 pm, Author and Curator Sophie Lynford will give a talk about her book, Painting Dissent: Art, Ethics, and Pre-Raphaelites. Her talk will follow how the American Pre-Raphaelites founded a uniquely interdisciplinary movement composed of politically radical abolitionist artists and like-minded architects, critics, and scientists.
Learn more about her lecture on our website. We can’t wait to see you at the museum!
Generously sponsored by a Humanities New York Vision/Action Grant.
