Festival Celebration Choir Spring Concert

Festival Celebration Choir will present Beyond Boundaries on Sunday June 4, 2023 at 3:00 pm at the First Lutheran Church of Albany, 181 Western Ave. The choir is directed by Julie Panke and accompanied by Daniel White.

Choral pieces that encourage thinking beyond the confines of geography, race, or particular points of view will be presented including I Dream a World by Dave Brubeck, Why a Caged Bird Sings by Rollo Dilworth. Fences by Andre Thomas and A Bridge of Peace by Gwyneth Walker which is set to a poem by Ada Aharoni. The work is meant to offer hope for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Guest artist are the Troy Children’s Chorus directed by Kristin Witham and Margaret Halinski, flute.

Kaitlyn Bechand, recipient of the Neil Hook Vocal Scholarship will perform.

Tickets are $18, children 12 and under are free. Available at the door.
