ICFS presents
THE PEZ OUTLAWAs heartwarming and hilarious as it is difficult to believe, this incredible fish-out-of-water documentary follows Steve Glew, a socially awkward misfit who makes a million dollars, loses everything, and becomes a beloved legend in the Pez collecting world… all with the support of an almost too-good-to-be-true, loving and patient wife.
Boarding a plane for Eastern Europe after the fall of the Berlin Wall, Glew and his teenage son – on little more than a whim – embark on a mission to locate a secret factory that is rumored to be making the most unusual, illicit, and highly-desired of Pez dispensers. Should they find this prized plastic, they must – by hook or by crook – gather them in bulk, sneak them past U.S. Customs, and then prepare to do battle with the none-to-happy “Pezident” of PEZ U.S.A.
“An unforgettable David vs. Goliath story.” – RogerEbert.com
“A spy thriller.” – Awards Daily
“This is the kind of film you’d show to someone who doesn’t like documentaries to change their mind. It is that good and powerful.” – Film Threat
As with other ICFS events, expect prizes, surprises, and a convenient bar.
