Confetti Stage Presents Confetti Fest **, 67 Corning Pl, Albany, NY, United States, New York 12207, 4 October 2024 | AllEvents.in

Confetti Stage is celebrating 20 years of Confetti Fest, the Capital Region’s longest running festival of locally written one acts!
Our 20th annual festival features:
“Unlocking the Past” by Kayleen Hayden, directed by Caleigh Hogan
As stipulated in their grandmother’s will, estranged siblings Carl and Susan must meet with Grandma’s lawyer together in order to receive their inheritance. The forced confrontation brings up past hurts, shared memories, and a future neither of them had anticipated. Turns out that old keys can open more than the doors to Grandma’s old house.
“Can’t Play Dead” by Stephen Henel, directed by Marissa Lounello
This show takes place in the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse. The zombies have won. More frightening than that: they know they’ve won. Join zombie pundit Guptill Franklinson and their panel of experts, including Reverend J.D. Hogswater; Social Media Influencer/Secretary of Education Libby Cornetto; Fairfax University Professor of Human Studies, Dr. Elias Framingham; and Glen Jenkins, a human, as they answer the biggest hot button issue of the day, “Human Beings: Harmless Curiosity or Existential Threat?”
“Game of Moans” by Laura Darling, directed by Tobias Martin
After a strange turn of events, a couple retreats to a sleazy motel to watch something very special. Along the way, friendships, trust, and the location of batteries are questioned.
“God Walks Into A Bar” by Kenneth Hauser, directed by Marissa Lounello and PJ Gonzalez
God, if you choose to believe it is God and not a delusional bum named Desmond, comes by earth for the first time in 30,000 years and has a conversation with Jon and Molly, two denizens of a neighborhood bar. The play is a comedy but tackles the subject of bigotry within religion.
Confetti Fest XX features Alexander Benson, Emily Crist, Keyonn Everett, Alex Grandin, Hasson Harris Wilcher, Ken Kasch, Vincent Lounello, Kaelyn Marshall, Ella McGrail, Vinny Miranda, Jess Mosher, John Nickles, Marissa Reimer Hangac, and Brooke Stanley.
Confetti Fest XX runs October 4-6 and 10-13 at the Albany Masonic Temple, 67 Corning Place, Albany, NY 12207. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday performances are at 7:30 PM with 2:00 PM Sunday matinees.
Tickets are $15 for general admission, $10 for students with ID, and $8 per person in groups of 8 or more. Tickets are available at the box office, online at https://confettistage.org/buy-tickets/, or by calling (518) 334-9132.
Confetti Fest XX is presented with support from the Capital Region Arts Center and the New York State Writers Institute.
