American Red Cross Gift of LifeA few months ago we presented an ambitious alumnus on the blog named, Jose Galvez who was in the process of applying to be a volunteer at the American Red Cross. We are proud to give you an exciting update that after months of preparation, Jose has completed his second consecutive three-hour shift at the site located on 33 Everett Road, Albany, NY 12205. Jose is quickly becoming quite skilled with the speed of scanning Blood Donor cards, assisting the lifesaving visitors with using the new technology stored on tablets, and just making people feel welcome!

A tremendous amount of appreciation goes out to the fellow staff of the American Red Cross especially Casey Garvey who was very instrumental with helping Jose apply and being a long-time supporter of our alumni within the College Experience!

In addition to donating his time to the American Red Cross, Jose is also a dependable volunteer at the Guilderland YMCA every Thursday and Saturday where he also scans members into the complex while working hard to keep the lobby neat. Jose had also offered his talents to Central Florist for a long time until the owners retired.

We are looking forward to seeing what else Jose has to contribute to the Capital Region because he is just getting started!
