Alumni Revisit their Childhoods with “Disney on Ice”
On Sunday, December 15, 2019 the Alumni Activities Club traveled just down the street to the sprawling Times Union Center in Downtown Albany that hosts an endless amount of sports games, shows, and celebrities all year long.
On this day, however, it was time to bring nostalgia and the novelty of a child’s imagination back to the present! The alumni opted to enjoy Disney on Ice as skilled figure skaters recreated some of the most iconic scenes in animated Disney history. Who needs the Disney+ streaming network when the real thing is taking place practically in our own backyard?
Scenes and songs from Aladdin, Tangled, Moana, and of course, “Let it Go” from the snow-bound world of Frozen left everyone with stars in their eyes as the alumni regressed into a cloud of cotton candy! It is just another poignant reminder of how growing up does not necessarily mean being forced to “let go” of what has made us smile from the days of yore and yesteryear!
The Holiday Season usually offers a plethora of activities that remind us of happy moments from our childhood. On that note, staff are always pleased when both the students and alumni advocate for what recreational adventures appeal to them throughout the year.

What comes after graduation? Many College Experience students, in fact most, choose to remain in Albany. They maintain friendships with their fellow and former graduates, form romantic partnerships, and some get married.
