Living Resources, Inc. and the College Experience would like to show their collective appreciation to Assemblymember John T. McDonald III who has been a longtime supporter of our talented individuals and dedicated staff at Living Resources, Inc. On Thursday, April 26, 2018 John McDonald presented a Champions of Character award in honor of our College Experience director, Jennifer Richard at a Sage College Banquet.

Most recently, on the afternoon of Monday, May 21, 2018 he took the time to meet with Jesse Saperstein who serves as the Media and Activities Liaison for the College Experience. Assemblymember McDonald spoke with Jesse about their shared passion of advocating for higher wages on behalf of direct care workers who perform this rewarding, albeit challenging, work. He also listened to and provided advice for Jesse’s personal goal of representing individuals who are on the autism spectrum as a guest orator at the 2020 National Democratic Convention. It is also his intention to use such an opportunity to speak on behalf of minorities who are vulnerable toward being oppressed within our great nation.

Jesse lives with Asperger’s syndrome and is just one example of Living Resources, Inc. walking the walk by hiring the same population they serve. Asperger’s syndrome happens to be the mildest but also the most misunderstood and vilified form of autism. We wish Jesse Saperstein success as he pursues this goal over the next two years and thank Assemblymember John T. McDonald III for his continued support!
