Our students are brimming with all sorts of talents. Whether it is acting, painting, sketching, or photography…all of our participants within the College Experience have at least one profound ability or contribution they may make to society. On that note, we would like to present the drawing of a 2021 alumnus named Ryan Peterson who shared his latest creations of Superman and Ultraman from CW’s DC Arrowverse. Ryan explained that Ultraman is a Japanese superhero show that first aired in 1966 and is still going strong today with a lot of Ultraman series. Ryan even has three or four of his drawings on permanent display within the Bard and Baker Cafe located next-door to the Madison Theatre. While a student within the College Experience, Ryan profiled superheroes from Marvel Comics in a PowerPoint presentation to display admirable personality traits that we should all adhere to at some point or another. He knows a great deal about this genre and explained how Ultraman was created by Eiji Tsuburaya who is the co-creator of Godzilla. Ryan let us know how the DC Arrowverse is a shared universe of shows like Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, DCs Legends of Tomorrow, Superman and Lois, etc. Arrowverse is a veritable smorgasbord of superheroes fighting for the common good of humanity regardless of whether those they are fighting for are human. Plenty of our students are lifted up by fantastical hobbies, although the talents it solicits are very much real.

We shall continue to give Ryan a great deal of encouragement as he pursues all forms of creative expression, and the Alumni Activities Club is looking forward to joining him at the Madison Theatre when the next Marvel or DC Comic movie premieres. Enjoy this drawing courtesy of Ryan Peterson!
