Jessica Lewis had a wonderful adventure at the Pine Bush Preserve on Saturday, September 19, 2020, which is an activity she planned all by herself.  Jessica took on a 2 1/2 mile trail as part of her fitness goals and then made time for a shorter trail shortly afterwards.  It was a beautiful day at the cusp of autumn for such an adventure. Pine Bush is one of the largest of the 20 inland pine barrens in the world.  It is centrally located in New York’s Capital District within Albany and Schenectady counties.  The Albany Pine Bush was formed thousands of years ago, following the drainage of Glacial Lake Albany.  The web page is:  https://www.albanypinebush.org, and it is so wonderful having this semi-hidden treasure in our own backyard!
After Jessica’s leisurely hike it was off to celebrate at the Capital City Diner down the road on Western Avenue.  Jessica is one of the most active participants of the Alumni Activities Club and is already planning a trip to the German American Club in Colonie, NY with one of their dinners that is operated with the standard COVID-19 precautions.
