The following words come from Jessica Lewis who is a 2011 graduate of the College Experience. She is an example of someone who is living her life to the fullest while doing her best to safely maintain essential employment within our society. Here is what she has to say:

Jessica College ExperienceI am still working about five days a week at Hannaford’s Supermarket in Delmar. I have done some Zoom videos with family and friends sometimes. I have been doing my meetup groups online and Zoom videos. I have been doing cooking, baking, and keeping busy. Working has been taking up a lot of time. After I am done with work, I come home and relax and put on a comedy of some sort like on Hulu or Netflix or just watch regular TV. I continue with making meals at night and cleaning…baking…doing daily chores…sometimes taking a little walk around the neighborhood to get some fresh air if it is a nice day.

I use the Just Dance Nintendo Switch game to keep busy and keep fit. Even though I am not in quarantine, I am sort of in quarantine. I am still in Albany, NY. My family is not nearby, but I am trying to keep a positive attitude by staying busy and socializing with friends and family near and far. We should all try to remain calm and not give up on things and know that you have support and people around you who care about you.

I FaceTime with my family every day and still take care of my apartment by doing chores. I would like to start up a social distance activities club because we have exactly no idea how long this thing will be going on for. So I think it would be a good idea for all of us to get together to socialize even if we are not really together. I sent some links to Jesse (the Activities Coordinator) about things we can do such as Zoom meetings and checking up on each other. We do not want to waste our lives away just because this is going on. The first thing I will probably do when this is over is go visit family.
