Sean, Ryan, Mark, and Noelle had the chance to socialize with incredible students from the College of Saint Rose at a gathering of the Geeks of the Round Table. The club president, Nikos Assimakopoulos took the time to tell us about what a typical meeting is like and the fun activities.
“We are a gaming club with board games, video games, and Anime. The number one goal is to find a free and open relaxation time for students. School is tough and tiring. While we love our classes, we need a time to take a break from everything.”
“At the end of the day, we are a group and a family and everybody is welcome. We have been around for about 7 years and have three meetings a week on Wednesday, Saturday, and Mondays are just for Anime. We meet from 7 to 11 PM, but someone does not have to stay the whole time. Another good thing about the club is that someone does not have to come to a certain number of meetings to be included. All you have to do is come to one meeting to become a member!”
Sean said he loves the club because, “I like Anime and have been playing video games since I was a kid.” Or as Ryan states, “I get to play board games and draw characters from video games and Anime on the dry erase board. My favorites are Transformers, Godzilla, and DC/Marvel comics characters.”

What comes after graduation? Many College Experience students, in fact most, choose to remain in Albany. They maintain friendships with their fellow and former graduates, form romantic partnerships, and some get married.
