The College Experience students are immersed in a variety of classes that combine academic and practical life skills. The curriculum is designed to have variety while serving as a stimulating mixture of learning that will prepare our students for adult life. We devote resources and talented instructors toward preparing the students to live independently in their own apartment and thrive in a job setting. One of life’s most important skills is knowing how to cook and prepare basic dishes with non-complex recipes.
A recent cooking class led by our instructor, Edith “Plummy” Chase, guided the students to learn how to make french fries – a very nice treat when balanced out with the nutritious meals the student also learn how to whip up in their kitchen full of useful tools. The best part of this class is getting to taste the fruits of one’s labors, which the students certainly did when the dish was completed!
