The alumni of the College Experience in the Transitions and Community Living Programs recently had the chance to embrace one of the most profound harbingers of autumn.  We visited Bowman Orchards in Rexford, NY on a beautiful day on Sunday, September 17, 2017 that boasts farm animals, entertainment, and ice cream in addition to hundreds of fruit-bearing trees.  We returned home with at least two weeks worth of apples per alumni to create confections like apple pie and apple crisp.  The Awesome Alumni Activities Club plans to take additional trips to take advantage of our Indian summer with some fall traditions such as Haunted Hayrides, hiking through the glowing foliage, and perhaps a trip to Sleepy Hollow, NY to indulge in literary history!  We meet the fourth Sunday of every month, and the alumni work with staff to plan activities of their choice.  The Activities Club is also an opportunity to enhance budgeting skills and develop confidence to pursue such adventures that take the alumni outside their comfort zones.
