College Experience Alumnus TheatreThis has been quite an incredible two weeks for our College Experience alumnus, Nick Williams. On Tuesday, April 23, 2019, he ventured out into New York City with staff to attend the EPIC Players Cabaret fundraiser. He is featured in a photograph with the beautiful Samantha Elisofon whose movie, “Keep the Change” won the Tribeca Film Festival in 2017.

EPIC Players and “Keep the Change” features professional performers with various disabilities in a professional environment. Nick enjoyed the show held in Lincoln Square as this neurodiverse group of performers served as capable custodians for complex songs such as Lady Gaga’s “Born this Way” and “Seasons of Love” from the Broadway show Rent.

On Saturday, May 4, 2019, the Albany Symphony Orchestra played iconic songs from some of our most beloved movies such as Star Wars, Superman, and Raiders of the Lost Ark in a tribute to the legendary composer, John Williams.

Nick had the chance to serve as an assistant usher for this particular event and also experience the musical magic along with the other theatre-goers. We thank the head usher, Karen Robertson as well as all of Nick’s new colleagues at the Palace Theatre for making Nick feel so welcome!

College Experience Alumnus Theatre Darth VaderHe helped his colleagues go through hundreds of pamphlets and make guests feel welcome. Nick even found time to pose with the Dark Force of the Universe himself – Darth Vader after his duties had concluded for the night!

We look forward to seeing what else Nick will accomplish with staff support as he continues pursuing his dreams of becoming an actor while also finding gainful employment in other areas.
