Tri-County Care Ribbon CuttingAndrew Maggio quickly stole the show on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 when he was chosen to give a speech during the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Tri-County Care building that has opened just down the street from Living Resources, Inc. on Washington Avenue Extension. Plenty of the staff members at Tri-County Care have long-term connections with Living Resources, Inc. and continue providing support for our individuals.

Andrew graciously gave much credit for his ongoing success to Ann, who is his current Care Coordinator. Andrew also paid homage to his mother, Tracy who he quipped is his “original Care Coordinator!” The following is a transcript from much of Andrew’s speech:

Greetings everyone, thank you for having me.

My name is Andrew Maggio. I am here to talk to you about my experiences with Care Coordination. My Care Coordinator is Ann. I have known her for 5 years and counting!

We have developed a trusting relationship.

She does her job well. I’m very happy with my Care Coordination services.

She has assisted me with the transition from the ISP planning format to the Life Plan. I feel she has done a good job with this. She explained the process so I understood what was happening and why. She makes sure my Life Plan and goals are all about me.

Ann is instrumental in aiding me to keep my benefits. For example, my food stamps. She also continues to monitor changes in the Medicaid/Medicare system, ensuring my health insurance remains current. No easy task!

Making sure my SSI benefits remain in order is another large responsibility, which Ann fulfills as well.

Another important role was to make sure I had good living conditions.

She assisted me to fill out the STAR bus application. Considering I don’t drive, this is a service I need. It’s easy to make a reservation and “I’m on my way.” It has made my community more accessible as I can travel to places “off the map”, to get to appointments and community events.

Ann is an amazing Care Coordinator. She has done a significant amount of work on my behalf. I am very grateful to have a Care Coordinator like Ann.

Thank you for allowing me to speak today and to be present for your ribbon cutting ceremony! Congratulations!

Andrew also presented Ann with an eloquent desk clock as a gift for half-a-decade of incredible friendship and professionalism. We are consistently proud of Andrew for serving as a role model for those on the autism spectrum and for his momentous maturity as a public orator!
