Rachael and Andrew enjoyed the most recent adventure with the Alumni Activities Club on Sunday, January 27, 2019, that took them to the Guilderland YMCA where they explored the pool facilities.
The Guilderland YMCA has always been very kind to the individuals served by Living Resources, Inc. and the College Experience. Two alumni are currently volunteers at the complex throughout the week. The spacious hot tub, sauna, and lukewarm pool became an oasis from the persistence of winter during this particular activity.
Andrew and Rachael obtained a dose of both relaxation and exercise before staff transported them to Ruby Tuesday at the Crossgates Mall just down the road. Rachael has done an amazing job of advocating for her fitness goals and has walked long distances with staff support to reach events in the Albany community. It is a known fact that one has a better chance of achieving their goals as long as there is some amount of fun sprinkled into the pursuit and Rachael has walked all the way to the Palace Theatre, among other places.
Staff and her family are very proud of Rachael for making healthy choices and serving as a role model for her peers as evidenced in this photograph of her posing with her turkey burger at Ruby Tuesday!
We look forward to many more adventures with the Alumni Activities Club that is led by graduates of the College Experience and has recently been opened for students such as Rachael.
What comes after graduation? Many College Experience students, in fact most, choose to remain in Albany. They maintain friendships with their fellow and former graduates, form romantic partnerships, and some get married.
