The Clothing of the Gilded Age

You’ve seen pictures of costumed actors in the show the Gilded Age. Now you can find out how- and why- people dressed that way. Using period illustrations and photos, the work of modern historical costumers, and passages from Laura Ingalls Wilder’s book Little Town on the Prairie, local historian (and Troy librarian) Anne will explore how big events affected the clothing of everyday people.

Registration is required. This event is a hybrid program, meaning that you can attend in person at the Main library or join via Zoom link from home. Please specify how you will be attending when signing up.
