Solo Piano Recital with Sophia Subbayya Vastek and Sam Torres

Enjoy a night of free music! On Sunday, March 19, the music industry program will welcome local pianist/composer Sophia Subbayya Vastek, who will perform selections from her new album, “In Our Softening.” The free concert in Picotte Recital Hall starts at 4 p.m. Music industry major Skyler Stabin will open. Fun fact: The album was engineered by Sam Torres, who teaches electronic composition at Saint Rose. The musical power couple Vastek and Torres are founders of Organ Colossal, the Troy Listening Room, and Troy Street pianos, and they produce The Lift Series at The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall.
