New York State Animal Advocacy Day Group Shot

NYS Animal Advocacy Day 2018

On Tuesday, June 5th the Legislative Office Building (LOB) in the New York State Capital was transformed into an exotic zoo! There were animals of all breeds, species, and walks of life present in honor of the NYS Animal Advocacy Day. Also manning a booth for their not-for-profit business called Phat Dog, were instructor Fern Pivar and many of our College Experience students.

College Experience Walking Club

The Walking Club within the College Experience has started every Wednesday evening now that winter and fickle spring weather have finally relented weeks earlier. The Walking Club is open to all interested students and alumni of the program. The club is lead by staff although students dictate the route and destinations.

First Meeting of the Walking Club

On Wednesday, May 30, 2018 the College Experience had its first meeting of the Walking Club this year that meets by one of the student residences and brings students to various parks or even the occasional restaurant that serves as the “carrot-on-the-stick”.

CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge

On the date of Thursday, May 17, 2018 the College Experience staff members, Jennifer Richard and Jesse Saperstein joined their Living Resources, Inc. colleagues for the CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge. The annual challenge was held at the Governor Nelson Rockefeller Empire State Plaza on a day with pristine weather!

Forging through Fort Crailo on a Historical Adventure

n the date of Friday, May 4, 2018 the students once again took a trip to the distant past with the History class instructed by adjunct professor, Michelle Brown. Our history was once again found in our veritable backyard as we packed the vehicles with students to head out to Fort Crailo in Rensselaer, NY.

The Major Milestone of an Alumnus in Childcare

The College Experience is now celebrating a major professional accomplishment of Mia Carr who just earned her certification as a Certified Daycare Assistant (CDA)! Mia has been working in childcare for a couple of years now and is from the class of 2014-2016. Earning her CDA required a two year commitment.
