The College Experience takes great pride in congratulating the 11 ambitious students who just completed our first ever Summer Exchange Program that lasted from July 9th to July 20th. These students who are still in high school came from various areas of New York State and New Jersey to experience a taste of college life at the College of Saint Rose.

On the morning of Tuesday, July 17, 2018 the heavy rain did not stop Jessica Lewis from venturing out to the Guilderland YMCA for her first day of volunteering. She will be contributing to the YMCA every Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

This trip for the College Experience Alumni Activities Club was a “Girls’ Day Out” on the perfect summer day of Saturday, July 7, 2018! Jessica, Dale, Denise, Mia, and Kirsten piled in one of the vans generously lent to the club by the DCOP Program for a lakeshore adventure.

The Alumni Activities Club recently welcomed the beginning of summer with a trip to SplashDown Beach in Fishkill, NY and were transported by staff from Albany in an agency van. James, Mia, Bill, and Rob made the most fun out of an oppressive heat wave on Sunday, July 1, 2018 with near-record high temperatures.

On the date of Thursday, June 21, 2018 students of the College Experience navigated the CDTA buses on their own to Joseph Bruno Stadium located in Troy, NY. This night was all about Living Resources, Inc. as the ValleyCats dedicated the night toward supporting our programs, and our CEO Fred Erlich threw out the first pitch dressed as Bruce Springsteen!

DetailsSince 2005, students enrolled in The College Experience have been a welcomed part of a coeducational college community located in Albany, New York. We partner with Russell Sage College, and our students are welcomed members of both Russell Sage’s Albany and Troy campus communities.
Students are offered a practical core curriculum and a wide variety of electives.
Our dorms are beautifully remodeled city residences located just a few blocks from Russell Sage’s Albany campus. Students live together in groups of 3 – 9. Each student has his or her own bedroom and share common living areas. Seniors serve as mentors to freshmen and assist them in many meaningful ways.
What comes after graduation? Many College Experience students, in fact most, choose to remain in Albany. They maintain friendships with their fellow and former graduates, form romantic partnerships, and some get married.
Through our C2L Program, the College Experience support staff offers dedicated transition support and guidance, helping students in the year after graduation with apartment leases and job placements, and then literally forever after as members of the Living Resources community.
