The Alumni Activities Club, that is entirely directed by the alumni with staff leadership, decided to venture onto the Appalachian Trail located in Poughquag, NY within the Dutchess County area. We completed a section less than five miles to a sprawling body of water.

Alumni Enjoy the Lights of Broadway…in Colonie, NY!

Who needs the travel and expense necessary to see a show on Broadway? Even though excursions into New York City are definitely in the works for the Alumni Activities Club, the reality is there is often a plethora of talent located right in our backyard. On that note, the College Experience would like to show our appreciation to Jessica Lewis who led a trip to Colonie Central High School so the Alumni Activities Club could see the play, “Legally Blonde.”

Dodgeball Madness finally came to the College of Saint Rose on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 and the College Experience was in the midst of the madness! Tor and Alek decided to take the initiative of forming their own team with their peers in the College Experience along with at least one supportive Saint Rose student.

Andrew Maggio quickly stole the show on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 when he was chosen to give a speech during the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Tri-County Care building that has opened just down the street from Living Resources, Inc. on Washington Avenue Extension.

LGBTQA Club at the College Experience

LGBTQA Club Launched at the College Experience

Students have advocated for a LGBTQA club that will be a safe place for students to speak about gender issues that affect them or choose to attend if they support others with these identities. The club has been proposed and organized by Gillian Friedlander, who is one of our College Experience tutors. The club started about a month-and-a-half ago and is known as the Rainbow Moon Club, which the students have named themselves.

College Experience Heather Kuzmich America's Next Top Model

America’s Next Top Model Visits the College Experience

All the students of the College Experience surely had stars in their eyes on Monday, March 11, 2019. A national celebrity came to visit them for the two Student Forums composed of freshmen and seniors, respectively. Heather Kuzmich, who competed on the 7th Season of America’s Next Top Model Cycle 9 in 2007, visited our program to speak to the students about her experiences being famous and the realities of pursuing one’s dreams.
